Can excision surgery cure infertility from endometriosis?

Fertilitypelvicabdominal

Excision surgery can improve fertility for some people with endometriosis, especially when disease is disrupting pelvic anatomy, blocking normal tubal-ovarian function, or creating inflammation and scarring that interferes with conception. Removing endometriosis and restoring anatomy may help, but surgery is not a guaranteed “cure” for infertility, and pregnancy outcomes vary widely.

The right plan depends on factors like age, ovarian reserve, tubal status, semen parameters, symptom severity, and how long you’ve been trying. In some cases, it makes sense to try naturally for a defined period after surgery; in others, coordinating surgery with fertility treatment (or considering egg/embryo preservation) is more strategic. Our team can review your full history and imaging, clarify what surgery can realistically change, and help you decide on next steps that fit your timeline and goals.
