Do I need robotic surgery or conventional laparoscopy?

Surgery

For most patients, results depend far more on the surgeon’s training and experience—especially in recognizing and completely removing endometriosis—than on whether the case is done with conventional laparoscopy or a robotic platform. Both are minimally invasive approaches that use small incisions and a camera, and either can be appropriate when performed by a highly skilled excision surgeon.

Robotic assistance can be helpful in certain situations, such as complex deep disease, challenging anatomy, or repeat surgery where scar tissue limits visibility and instrument movement. That said, robotics doesn’t automatically mean a more complete excision, less pain, or a better long-term outcome. In a consultation, our team can review your symptoms, imaging, prior operative reports, and surgical goals to recommend the approach that best fits your anatomy and the extent of suspected disease.
