How soon will pelvic floor therapy improve my symptoms?

Most patients begin to notice some improvement after a few pelvic floor therapy sessions, but the timeline can vary widely. It depends on what’s driving your symptoms, how long you’ve had pain, and whether your pelvic floor muscles are primarily overactive, weak, or compensating for another pelvic condition.

If symptoms have been present for a long time or are more complex, progress may be more gradual and require a longer course of therapy. In our practice, we often view pelvic floor therapy as one part of a broader plan—so if you’re not improving as expected, our team can help evaluate whether endometriosis, adenomyosis, or another source of pelvic pain may also be contributing and discuss next steps with you.
