In pregnancy, acetaminophen is typically the first-line medication for pain relief. NSAIDs (like ibuprofen/naproxen) are generally avoided after 20 weeks and, if considered earlier in pregnancy, should only be used with clear guidance from an obstetric care team because timing and dose matter. Medications used for hormonal suppression of endometriosis symptoms (such as GnRH analogs and aromatase inhibitors) are not used during pregnancy.

For non-medication support, many patients do best with targeted heat, gentle activity modifications, and pelvic floor physical therapy with a clinician trained in prenatal care. Some patients also find acupuncture helpful when it’s performed by a practitioner experienced with pregnancy. If pain is persistent, escalating, or interfering with sleep and function, our team can help you think through safe options and coordinate with your pregnancy care plan.
