When can I try to conceive or do IVF after endometriosis surgery?

Topic:Fertility
Affected areas:pelvicbowelbladder

Timing depends on what was done in surgery and how your body is healing. After an uncomplicated excision, many patients can start trying to conceive within 1–3 menstrual cycles, once bleeding has resolved and recovery is on track.

If your surgery included more complex work—such as bowel or bladder repair—we often recommend allowing a longer healing window (commonly 3–6 months) before attempting pregnancy or proceeding with IVF. Our team will tailor guidance to your surgical findings, symptoms, and fertility goals, and we can coordinate timing with your reproductive endocrinology plan so you feel confident about next steps.
