You suspect you may have endometriosis or adenomyosis

Can adenomyosis cause bloating without endometriosis?

Symptomsabdominalpelvicsystemic

Yes. Adenomyosis can cause bloating even when endometriosis isn’t present, especially in the days leading up to and during your period. When the uterine muscle is affected, the uterus can become enlarged and tender, and that pelvic inflammation and congestion can contribute to a “distended” or heavy lower-abdomen feeling.

That said, adenomyosis and endometriosis commonly occur together, and the bloating patterns can overlap—so symptoms alone don’t always tell us which condition is driving what you’re feeling. Our team can help sort this out by reviewing your symptom timeline and prior imaging, and discussing next steps if adenomyosis (or a combination of conditions) seems likely. If bloating is disrupting your quality of life, you’re welcome to reach out to schedule a consultation.
