How do I get endometriosis surgery?

Topic:Surgery
Affected areas:pelvicbowelbladder

Getting endometriosis surgery usually starts with choosing a surgeon who can do complete excision—not just burn the surface of lesions. Because endometriosis can involve the bowel, bladder, ureters, nerves, or even the diaphragm, the “right” surgery is highly individualized and based on your symptoms, prior treatments, and any available operative, pathology, or imaging reports.

At our institute, the first step is a purposeful, record-based telehealth consultation process. We review your symptoms and the records you already have (you don’t need everything at once), then tell you directly whether we believe surgery in California may be appropriate and what additional information we’d need to plan safely. If surgery is a fit, we’ll outline the anticipated scope and recovery expectations—our approach centers on robotic excision for precision in both straightforward and complex cases.

To move forward, reach out to request an intake review so our team can help you gather the right records, understand travel/logistics if you’re coming from out of state, and get clear on insurance or cash-pay options (we are out of network and have advocacy support to help patients pursue possible coverage when applicable).
