What can I do today while waiting for an appointment?

Affected areas:pelvicabdominalbladder

If you’re not in an emergency situation, the most helpful step today is to start tracking what you’re feeling in a way that shows patterns—when pain hits, where it sits in the pelvis, how it relates to bleeding, bowel/bladder changes, sex, movement, or your cycle, and what (if anything) reliably makes it worse or better. Bringing that timeline to your visit helps us move faster from “symptoms” to a focused plan.

For short-term comfort while you wait, many patients do best with simple, low-risk supports like heat, gentle movement, and pacing activity to avoid the boom-bust cycle that can worsen flares. Some also find a TENS unit useful, and anti-inflammatory medication can be an option when it’s safe for you based on your health history. If bowel movements or intercourse trigger sharp pain or guarding, aiming for pelvic floor relaxation (rather than strengthening) can reduce spasm and make symptoms more manageable until we can evaluate you—reach out to our team to schedule a consultation if your pain is escalating or becoming harder to control.
