When are urinary symptoms an emergency?

Topic:Symptoms
Affected areas:bladderpelvicback

If you have urinary symptoms along with severe one-sided flank pain, fever, repeated vomiting, an inability to pass urine, or visible blood in the urine, treat this as urgent. These combinations can signal a kidney infection or a blockage of the ureter, and delaying care can put kidney function at risk.

Even without dramatic pain, ongoing or recurrent blood in the urine, worsening lab markers of kidney strain (like a rising creatinine), or symptoms that escalate quickly deserve prompt evaluation and imaging. If urinary symptoms are persistent or cyclical—especially alongside pelvic pain—our team can help sort out whether the cause is infection, stones, obstruction, or endometriosis-related involvement and guide next steps.
