You suspect you may have endometriosis or adenomyosis
Why does ovulation pain last for days?
Ovulation discomfort is often brief, but when pain lasts for days it can be a sign that something more than the egg release itself is driving the flare. With endometriosis, inflammation and irritated pelvic nerves can stay activated after ovulation, so the pain doesn’t “switch off” right away.
Scar tissue and adhesions can also keep pelvic organs under tension, making everyday movement continue to tug on sensitive areas and prolong soreness. And once pain starts, the pelvic floor muscles may reflexively tighten to guard the area, which can create a persistent tight, achy feeling even after the initial trigger has passed.
